Bill was born and raised to both caring and loving parents in the United States of America. So he is the son of Kareen Lee and Elza Wixey. He is the only child of Kareen Lee and Elza Wixey and unfortunately, his parents did divorce when he was at 11 years of age. Later her mother got married to another man by the name of Larry Hawkes. Still on that, in the year 2010, he won an Emmy Award for “Bill’s Journey,” which did document his successful battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Furthermore, in 2005 Bill did receive an accolade for his documentary “Mission of Hope” in which he did travel to Sri Lanka shortly after the devastating tsunami to document the recovery efforts. During his free time when he is not working at Q13 News, he likes playing hockey, watching movies, golfing, running,  reading, and spending time with his kids.
