Carole began her career working in New Brunswick and Ontario, anchoring on local news in the early 1990s. Then in 1998, she did join CBC Newsworld, and not so long ago, she did host CBC Rundown with Carole MacNeil, a daytime news program on CBC News Network.
She did work at CBC station CBAT-DT in Fredericton, New Brunswick from 1990 to 1994, and she was the co-anchor for the evening news program and the host of a current affairs program. Then in 1994 in October she went to Windsor, Ontario. So MacNeil became the anchor of the local evening newscast on CBET-DT, the local CBC station.
However, in 1996 February, she did replace David Kyle as the station’s late-night news anchor, therefore becoming the anchor of both the evening and late-night newscasts. Later in 2010, Carole did help launch Canada Now, the supper-hour news program on CBC Television.
She became the host of CBC News: Sunday Night, an hour-long prime-time news broadcast on CBC Television as well as on CBC Newsworld in 2002 February alongside Evan Solomon. CBC News Sunday won numerous Gemini Awards. Then in 2009 the 24th Gemini Awards, her show Sunday Night was nominated for “Best Lifestyle/practical information segment”.
