She became to light as an investigative journalist working on shows including Cash Investigation, Pièces à Conviction, and Envoyé spécial. Still, on that, Lucet has been dubbed France’s “incorruptible journalist”. In addition to that, She was acknowledged as the Knight of the Legion of Honour. While working for Cash Investigation, Lucet did garner with her crew around twenty international awards including a Pulitzer Prize in 2017 for their investigation of the Panama Papers.

Élise began her journalism career working under Henri Sannier in 1983 on the Caen affiliate of France 3. Later Lucet did work for Sygma TV and also the public service radio station France Inter. Then in 1990, Lucet became the host of the 19/20 evening news on France 3, while in 1997 as the lead editor.
After that, from 2000 to 2011 Lucet was the host of Pièces à Conviction as a writer and producer. She was w also the host of 13 heures le journal on France 2 after leaving the 19/20 show. In 2012, Élise started hosting Cash Investigation show, which was an investigative television program.
Controversies
During the World Wildlife Fund in June 2012, Lucet did sue France 2 to prevent the broadcast of an interview with the NGO’s management. But the court did in favor of France 2.
In the year 2015, Rachida Dati did criticize the broadcast for raising questions about a possible link between herself together with the Engie corporation.
However, in 2016 in October the first deputy to the Mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, disputed an investigation’s claims that did relating to the cost and also the use of the Allianz Riviera, a newly built stadium. Then a dedicated website was made to back Estrosi’s counter-claims. But Lucet alongside Estrosi vigorously did oppose each other at the end of the show.
