Despite all this, they still had hopes of a baby so they continued with the egg retrieval and found a surrogate.

In the year 2011 in an interview, she announced she had been diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer. She underwent surgery in mid-October 2011 and returned to work at Enews about a week later. Then she disclosed she had decided to undergo a bilateral mastectomy. Fortunately, they announced in 2012 that they were expecting their first child via a gestational surrogate. Their son was born in late August 2012.
