Ian Payne is a popular British sports broadcaster who is currently serving as a Sports correspondent at ITV News. Additionally, he hosts a late-night current affairs phone-in show on LBC Between 10 pm and 1 am. Previously, he served as a presenter for Radio 5 Live and sky sports.

So, he was born and raised in Germany by his wonderful parents. His father is a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist Peter Payne. Although he has not disclosed any information about his mother and siblings.

Nevertheless, he began his career at BBC serving in a journalistic training program in the year 1986 with BBC Radio Lancashire. Later on, joined BBC Radio 5 Live covering a wide variety of sports as well as presenting sports on 5. So, in the year 2000, he became the presenter of the weekday afternoon show.

Eventually, in the year 2003, previously, he has been presenting Monday but was later on replaced by Jeff Stelling. Additionally, he presented FA Cup coverage during 2005 and the League Cup from the year  2003 to 2006. Apparently, in the year 2010, he returned to BBC mainly presenting 5 live sports. Moreover, standing in on the Up All Night program and weekend breakfast.

Furthermore, he presented scores on a Saturday sports program on LBC. Also, he wrote on their blog. In addition, he presented the London and southeast edition of the BBC football league program late kick-off in march 2011.

As a freelance, on 5 November 2010, Payne crossed the National Union of Journalists picket lines to present a BBC Breakfast radio program that was broadcast on 5 Live, Radio Ulster, and Radio Scotland.

Finally, he became the new ITV News Sports Correspondent, replacing BBC-bound Natalie Parks. Later, he started presenting on Sports Tonight Live, a new sports television channel that broadcasts on Primetime Channel 498 on Sky.  He continued to work for the station from the start of the 2012–13 football season, presenting every Tuesday and Wednesday night from 7-10 pm alongside his regular guest, former Arsenal midfielder Perry Groves.
