Prior to joining Fox 61, Jake came to Connecticut from KIVI-TV in Boise, Idaho where he did serve as Weekend Anchor and Reporter. While in KIVI-TV in Boise Idaho, Jake did cover a number of noteworthy stories, including the murder of four University of Idaho students, which earned widespread media coverage. He also covered Chad Daybell’s and Lori Vallow’s pre-trial court appearances.

Prior to working in Boise, Jake did spend 3 years as the morning and lunchtime anchor for KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas, where his reporting on crime and court issues was mostly centered. In addition Jake rose to prominence in the Wichita Falls Hispanic community while residing there, emceeing the Dia de los Muertos event and the yearly Hispanic Leadership Banquet.
Furthermore, he held different positions at the three local stations in his hometown of Amarillo, Texas before moving to Wichita Falls, including editor, producer, reporter, and stand-in anchor.
