John Stamos Biography

John Stamos is an American actor and musician. He became famous for his contract role-playing as Blackie Parrish on the ABC television soap opera General Hospital, so he got nominated for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series. Stamos also became well-known in television, portraying the role of Jesse Katsopolis on the ABC sitcom Full House. Additionally, John did appear in many tv series and films. However, Stamos has been the national spokesperson for Project Cuddle since 2005.

John Stamos Family|Parents

Stamos was born and brought up in Cypress, California United States of America. He is the daughter of Loretta Phillips, while his father William  Stamos, is a second-generation Greek-American restaurateur.

When he was a teenager Stamos used to work for his father’s restaurants, and also had a job flipping burgers in the Orange County area.

Late in January 1982, Stamos made his acting debut on the serial opera General Hospital as Blackie Parrish, for which he was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 1984. He then moved on to play the main character in the brief CBS sitcom Dreams, in which he portrayed a wannabe musician in a group by the same name.

ABC’s Full House, which premiered in the late 1980s, steadily gained popularity and established Stamos’s career. To emphasize his Greek heritage, he requested that the character’s last name be Katsopolis, according to the show’s creator and executive director Jeff Franklin.

The eight-season television show ended in 1995. Co-stars Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, Lori Loughlin, Jodie Sweetin, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Andrea Barber, and Candace Cameron Bure have remained close to Stamos over the years.

Stamos has made numerous appearances in commercials, television shows, stage productions, and made-for-television movies. He did play the lead in the television shows Jake in Progress (2001) and Thieves. (2005). Both programs were on for several hours before being canceled.

In several of his voice acting roles, he has portrayed himself, such as in the MTV animated series Clone High’s “Changes: The Big Prom: The Sex Romp: The Season Finale” and in Bob Saget’s parody movie Farce of the Penguins’ What’s Global Warming Penguin.

When Stamos was four years old, he began studying the drums. Later, he picked up the guitar and formed the Destiny ensemble. The ensemble had performed live shows at a few amusement parks and gatherings.

Together with Lanny Cordola, Gary Griffin, Sandra Stephens, Tony Guerrero, and David Enos, Stamos contributed to the 1994 independently published album Shades of Blue.
