In addition to that, Diaz Balart is currently anchoring a new 10 A.M. show called “José Díaz-Balart Reports”, on MSNBC. He as well continues to anchor NBC Nightly News Saturday, regularly substitutes for the weekday and also Sunday broadcast, and will continue to anchor breaking news together with special events coverage for Telemundo and host monthly specials.

After graduating from high school with good grades, he did join the New College of Florida, he did graduate with  BA in Political Science and History. Later he did join the University of Cambridge.

Career

He first began his career by working as a radio host before he took a job in print journalism during the mid-1980s for United Press International. Later in the year 1984 in December Jose became the Central American Bureau Chief for what was then called the Spanish International Network.

Later in 1987, Diaz Balart was one of the groups of Journalists that founded Telemundo news, creating Noticias Telemundo/HBC. He afterward established himself as a television news reporter in Miami, where he did work for WTVJ from 1988 till he was appointed by CBS in May 1996.

Furthermore, in 1996 he did make history by becoming the first Cuban-American to host a network news program when he began anchoring for the CBS News program This Morning. Additionally, in 2000 he did return to Spanish language network television and he became the anchor of a new Telemundo morning program by the name Esta Manana.

Later in 2010, he did report for NBC. Then again he made history when he did substitute for Contessa Brewer on MSNBC Live for the week of June 20 through 24, 2011, in the show’s 12 PM time slot, making him the first U.S. journalist to broadcast both English and also Spanish newscasts on two networks concurrently.

After that, in 2016 on the 18th of February Diaz-Balart did moderate the Democratic Town Hall with Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, in Las Vegas Nevada. However on June 26 and 27 of 2019, Diaz-Balart co-moderated the first Democratic Presidential Debates on NBC and also Telemundo.
