Julie Etchingham Biography

Julie Etchingham ( Julie Anne Etchingham )is an English journalist who works as a television newsreader with ITV News.  She is a graduate of Newnham College, Cambridge, Etchingham joined the BBC as a trainee after completing her studies. Later on, she went on to present the children’s news program Newsround in 1994. However, she joined Sky News in the year 2002 and also presented editions of Five News when Sky won the contract to produce news programming for channel 5 in 2005.

Eventually, she went to Sky News in 2002, where she did a number of shows for the channel, including Sky News Today. Furthermore, she was also an occasional presenter on Five News after Sky took over as a news provider for Five in January 2005. In 2007, throughout a speech by David Cameron, Etchingham’s mike was left open. Additionally, to it, an associate degree aside was accidentally broadcast throughout live coverage of the Conservative leader’s address.

Regardless, ITV was clear that in January 2008 she would move to present the launch again News at Ten with Sir Trevor McDonald. Basically, had to stop a plane from flying out of Pakistan after he heard Etchingham was running late after an interview between the two.

Moreover, in 2015 News at Ten came back to the single newscaster format, with former political editor Tom Bradby becoming the program’s new main presenter. She continues on the program as Deputy Anchor, sharing the role with Rageh Omaar. She also files special reports for the program.
