Scott Speedman is a British Canadian actor. He became famous when he was among the leading role in the coming-of-age drama television series Felicity as Ben Covington, Barry “Baz” Blackwell in the TNT crime drama series Animal Kingdom, and Lycan–Vampire hybrid Michael Corvin in the gothic horror–action Underworld films. In addition to that, Scott’s other film work includes XXX: State of the Union, Duets, Dark Blue, Barney’s Version, The Vow, Barney’s, and Crimes of the Future. However, in the year 2021 Speedman did return to Grey’s Anatomy as a main character following a guest role in season 14 as Dr. Nick Marsh.

Scott was born to lovely and caring parents in Hammersmith, London, England. His parents are Scottish descendants. He is the son of Roy Speedman who was a department store buyer while his lovely mother was a primary school teacher and champion runner.
In addition, he also has a sister by the name of Tracey, but she died of cancer on February 8, 2016. However, at the age of 4, he moved to Toronto with his family.

He went to Earl Haig Secondary School where he was a competitive swimmer. At school he was a member of the Canadian Junior National Swim Team, therefore Speedman was placed 9th at the 1992 Olympic trials.
However he got a neck that he did suffer soon after, then Scott was forced sports. So he went on to find another athlete outside the school, but later he became,e interested in acting. Speedman went on to attend the University of Toronto and also York University to study his craft.
Career
Speedman was persuaded by a friend to participate in Speaker’s Corner, a public discussion program hosted by Toronto’s Citytv, where he did showed interest in going to an audition for the part of Robin in the movie Batman Forever, which was at the time being cast in Toronto.
In 1995, Scott made his television debut in an episode of Kung Fu: The Legend Continues. Later that year, he also had a recurring part in Nancy Drew.
In the movie Duets in 2000, Speedman played Billy Hannan alongside Gwyneth Paltrow. After leaving Felicity after a four-year stint, Speedman found immediate success in the movie industry. However, in the 2002 film Dark Blue, a police drama, he was cast in his first significant leading part, playing an inexperienced LAPD officer caught in a web of corruption alongside Kurt Russell.
According to a rumor from July 2009, Dustin Hoffman and Speedman would both appear in Barney’s Version movie. In the ABC military thriller series Last Resort, which debuted on September 27, 2012, Speedman last played XO Sam Kendal.
Up until the first episode of season 3, Speedman did play Barry “Baz” Blackwell in the TNT crime thriller Animal Kingdom. Prior to making his series debut in season 18, he did appear as Dr. Nick Marsh in a guest part on Grey’s Anatomy in 2018.
The third season of the Netflix thriller series You will feature Speedman in the recurring character of Matthew Engler, was revealed in October 2020.
