Thomas John Brokaw(Tom Brokaw) is a famous retired author and network television journalist from America. He 1st served as the co-anchor of The Nowadays Show from 1976 to 1981 with Jane Pauley, then as the anchor and editor-in-chief of NBC Nightly News for twenty-two years from 1982 to 2004.

Tom Brokaw Family | Parents
Tom was born and brought up by his loving parents in Webster, South Dakota. his father Eugenia Conley worked in sales and also as a post-office clerk, and Anthony Orville “Red” Brokaw from1912 to 1982. In his family, he was the eldest of the other two brothers who were William and Michael.
Additionally, his father was also the foreman of construction for the Army Corps of Engineers and he did work at the Black Hills Ordnance Depot. Information about his mother is not available.

Career
Brokaw began his career working at KTIV in Sioux City, Iowa followed by stints at KMTV in Omaha, Nebraska, together with WSB-TV in Atlanta. In the year 1966, he joined NBC News and was reporting from Los Angeles together with anchoring the 11:00 p.m. news for KNBC.
Tom began co-anchoring NBC Nightly News from New York with Roger Mudd in Washington, also succeeding John Chancellor in the year 1982 on the 5th of April.
Brokaw did score a major coup when, on November 9, 1989, he was the first English-language broadcast journalist to report the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Tom then attended a televised press conference which was organized in East Berlin by Günter Schabowski, press spokesman for the East German Politburo, which had just decided to allow its citizens to apply to permanently leave the country through its border with West Germany.
In 2002, NBC announced that Tom would retire as anchor of the NBC Nightly News following the 2004 Presidential election, to be succeeded by Brian Williams. However, Brokaw remained with NBC News in a part-time capacity from that point onwards, working as an analyst and anchoring together with producing documentary programs.
Later after leaving the anchor chair at NBC Tom did email its Special Correspondent, providing periodic reports for Nightly News. Furthermore, On Jan twenty-two, 2021, NBC declared Brokaw would retire after fifty-five years at the network, one of the few news anchors within the world UN agency that have spent the longest time on an equivalent news network, together with Ecuadorian news anchor Alfonso Espinosa First State Los Montero’s UN agency has been in Ecuavisa since 1967.
