Amy Jade Winehouse was a famous British singer and songwriter. Jade came to fame due to her massive and expressive contralto vocals and her eclectic mix of musical genres, including soul, rhythm and blues, and jazz. During her youth stage, she was a member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. She also signed to Simon Fuller’s 19 Management in 2002 and soon recorded a number of songs before signing a publishing deal with EMI.

Amy Winehouse Family
Winehouse was born at Chase Farm Hospital in Gordon Hill, Enfield, to Jewish parents. Her father, Mitchell Winehouse, was a window panel installer and taxi driver, while her mother Janis Winehouse was a pharmacist.
In addition to that, Jade had an older brother called Alex. Moreso she lived with her family in London’s Southgate area. Most of Jade’s maternal uncles were professional jazz musicians.
Similarly, her paternal grandmother, Cynthia, was a singer and dated the English jazz saxophonist Ronnie Scott. Therefore Cynthia and the parents of Amy really made her gain an interest in Jazz Music.
After that, Jade used to play with her brother’s guitar but later she bought hers at the age of 15 and began writing music shortly afterward.
Soon after she began working for a living, as an entertainment journalist for the World Entertainment News Network and also singing with the local group the Bolsha Band.
Later in July 2000, Jade Collaborated with the National Youth Jazz Orchestra as a female vocalist. She was influenced by Sarah Vaughan and Dinah Washington, the latter of whom she was already listening to at home.

Jade went to Osidge Primary School. She also attended a Jewish Sunday school while she was a child. During an interview following her rise to fame, she expressed her dismissal from the school by saying that she used to beg her father to permit her not to go and that she learned nothing about being Jewish by going anyway.
After that, she went to Susi Earnshaw Theatre School she came to the school only on Saturdays to further her vocal education and to learn to tap dance. Jade spent fours in the school and she did find a rap group called Sweet ‘n’ Sour, with Juliette Ashby, her childhood friend.
But Amy later did full-time training at Sylvia Young Theatre School. Though later Several years later it was reported that Winehouse had been expelled at 14 for “not applying herself” and also for piercing her nose, but these claims were denied by Sylvia Young.
Surprisingly at the age of 15, she changed many schools however she also denied that she had been expelled from schools and her father also did the same on her side.
Lastly, she attended the Mount School, Mill Hill, and the BRIT School in Selhurst, Croydon, dropping out at age 16.
Amy Winehouse Career
When Winehouse Jade was signed by Simon Fuller’s 19 Management in 2002 and was paid £250 a week against future earnings. The management kept Jade a secret artist while she was developing in the company and recorded in the industry.
After the release of her first jazz-influenced album, Winehouse’s focus shifted to the girl groups of the 1950s and 1960s. So she even engaged an artist from New York Sharon Jones to back her up in the studio and on tour.
Back to Black was the world’s seventh-biggest-selling album of 2008 that she did. The album’s sales meant that the market performance of Universal Music’s recorded music division did not drop to levels experienced by the overall music market.
After doing lots of projects in music and producing successful albums that did sell well worldwide. She, therefore, decided to join a campaign to stop a block of flats being built beside the George Tavern, a famous London East End music venue.
Throughout her life, Winehouse donated her money, music, and time to many charities, particularly those concerned with children. Jade was once named “the most charitable act” by Pop World.

At Camden’s Roundhouse is where Jade made her last public appearance when she surprised her goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield when she came to support her. Later after 3 days, it was with sad notice to heard that she had passed away.
Though she had her last recording which was a duet with American singer Tony Bennett for his album, Duets II, released on 20 September 2011. She died of Alcohol Poisoning.
