Sir Elton Hercules John(Elton John) is a famous English singer, pianist, and composer, with a career, spread over six decades. So John has sold over 300 million records, making him one of the best-selling music artists of all time.

Family and Early Life
When John was born was given Reginald Kenneth Dwight as his name on 25 March 1947 in Pinner, Middlesex. He was the first child of the family. Therefore his father was Stanley Dwight while his mother was Sheila Eileen.
Besides that John was brought up by his maternal grandparents in a council house in Pinner. Later when his father discovered that john had taken music seriously, he instead tried to steer him toward a more conventional career, such as banking.
John has said that his wild stage costumes and performances were his way of letting go after such a restrictive childhood.
So at their home, there was a trumpet player with the Bob Millar Band, a semi-professional big band that played at military dances and it really motivated him to do music.
Education
Elton went to Pinner Wood Junior School, then to Reddiford School, and lastly to Pinner County Grammar School until he was 17 years old. He left just prior to his A-Level examinations to pursue a career in music.
Elton John Career
John started by playing piano t the age of 15 at a pub in the Northwood Hills Hotel, playing Thursday to Sunday nights. He got hired with the help of his mother and stepfather.
Later in 1962, Elton joined with some friends to come up with a band called Bluesology. By day, he ran errands for a music publishing company. But he divided his nights between solo gigs at a London hotel bar and working with Bluesology.
Bernie Taupin and John began a partnership that is still there till they met in 1967 and they recorded their first song “Scarecrow” later after six months John began going by the name Elton John in homage to two members of Bluesology. And members were of course saxophonist Elton Dean and vocalist Long John Baldry.
Through advice from music publisher Steve Brown. Elton John and Taupin began writing more complex songs for John to record for DJM. So the first single was “I’ve Been Loving You” in 1968.
Elton’s single “Your Song” was his first single and it reached number seven in the UK Singles Chart and number eight in the US, becoming John’s first hit single as a singer.
After realizing many hits and albums that did well Elton decided to open up his record label called The Rocket Record Company. Then signed Neil Sedaka and Kiki Dee, in whom he took a personal interest.
Instead of releasing his own records on Rocket, he signed an $8 million contract with MCA. When the contract was signed in 1974, MCA reportedly took out a $25 million insurance policy on John’s life.
Later in 1974, MCA realized Elton John’s Greatest Hits, a UK and US number one that is certified Diamond by the RIAA for US sales of 17 million copies.
Another Album
Furthermore, John 1981 released an album called The Fox. it included collaborations with Tom Robinson and Judie Tzuke.
In addition to that, in 1990, John achieved his first solo UK number-one hit single, with “Sacrifice” from the previous year’s album Sleeping with the Past; it stayed at the top spot for five weeks.
Later in early 2000 Elton disliked appearing in his videos but the video for “This Train Don’t Stop There Anymore” featured Justin Timberlake portraying a young John, and the video for “I Want Love” featured Robert Downey, Jr. lip-syncing the song.
John also performed a piano duet with Lady Gaga at the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, which consisted of two songs of Gaga’s, before leading up to “Your Song”.
Tour
it was announced on 24th January that John was retiring from touring and would soon embark on a three-year farewell tour. The first concert took place in Allentown, Pennsylvania, on 8 September 2018. John then decided to stay with his children during his retirement.
