Christopher James Harris(Chris Harris) is a famous British automotive journalist, racing driver, and television presenter. He has however served as a writer, reviewer, and editor for many automotive magazines, including Evo, Autocar, and Jalopnik. In addition, James has also been in numerous television and YouTube series through NBCSN and DRIVE as a presenter. He has been one of the three main presenters of Top Gear starting from 2017, after previously making regular appearances throughout the twenty-third series in 2016. Moreso Harris has his own YouTube channel  Chris Harris on Cars. So on his YouTube channel, James and Neil Carey produce and film their own automotive reviews and content. James on Cars, a web series was moved from YouTube to the official Top Gear website, and in July 2016, Chris Harris on Cars was launched on BBC America.

James Harris’s parents are Ian Harris and Angela Wilding. Above all his father Ian Harries was an accountant while his mother was a Cypriot autocross racer. Chris was educated at Clifton College, Bristol

 Harris Career

James started his career working in the automotive industry working for Autocar. Therefore he performed various menial tasks, or, as he himself describes it, “cleaning ashtrays”. While working in Autocar Harris’s nickname became “Monkey”.

After that, in 2008 Chris left Autocar magazine to co-found a new web-based digital platform called the Drivers Republic. Subsequently, Harris created an opinion and review YouTube series in partnership with /DRIVE. Therefore the new series was aired weekly and it started in early 2012 on YouTube called CHRIS HARRIS ON CARS.

Harris channel on 27th October 2014, he came up with his YouTube channel  Chris Harris on Cars.

Harris partnered with longtime colleague and cameraman and editor Neil Carey and still shoots all Chris Harris on Cars independently.

In addition to it, James began writing for Jalopnik a web automotive journal administrated by Kinja.  Harris additionally has partnered with /DRIVE through NBCSN and currently seems thereon channel, reviewing cars and collaborating in automotive-related activities with alternative hosts, on an everyday basis.

Later Harris officially joined the new cast of Top Gear in 2016 February. After serving as a recurring presenter in 2016 James got a promotion after the resignation of Chris Evans.

In 2016, Harris’s web series, Chris Harris On Cars, was absorbed by the BBC. Regarding motor racing, Harris has had an extensive racing career. Therefore he first won his first race in a Formula Palmer Audi in 2000.

So the cars that he has driven during car races include the Porsche 911 Cup, Renault Sport R.S. 01, Aston Martin Vantage GT12, Van Diemen FF1600, Rover SD1, and a Jaguar E-Type

In James’s early career, magazines such as Autocar and Evo paid him for his writing as a journalist. As he was doing well in his career, Harris began to branch out on his own.

Later during his review of Ferrari cars on 2 February 2011, Chris was banned because he had written an article “How Ferrari Spins”.

Harris could also not review  Lamborghini cars because he had written that “Lamborghini Are The Perfect Cars For People Who Can’t Drive”.It was in 2014

After all that  Harris has recently (as of December 2017) started reviewing Lamborghinis again by driving the Lamborghini Huracán under his Chris
