Mark Robert Michael Wahlberg( Mark Wahlberg) is an American actor, businessman, producer, and former rapper. He was a member of a music group called Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. Mark with the group released two albums Music for the People (1991) and You Gotta Belief (1992). After that, he ventured into the acting career and that is how became prominent.

It’s such a hard, physical thing to do. Losing weight, you just kind of tough it out—you just don’t eat, and exercise. And this, even when you’re full, I would wake up after a meal and have another meal. I was eating every three hours. It was not fun.”

Career
Wahlberg first came to fame as the younger brother of Donnie Wahlberg of the successful boy band New Kids on the Block. At the age of 13, he was one of the original members of the group along with Donnie, but Mark then quit the group after 3months.
Wahlberg began recording with rappers/singers Scott Ross (Scottie Gee), Hector Barros (Hector the Booty Inspector), Anthony Thomas (Ashley Ace), and Terry Yancey (DJ-T) as Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, earning a hit with “Good Vibrations” from their debut album Music for the People. The record, produced by brother Donnie, hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100, later becoming certified as a platinum single, that was in 1990.
In December 1992, while performing on the British TV show The Word, Wahlberg praised Shabba Ranks, who had stated gay people should be crucified. Wahlberg for saying that GLAAD condemned his statement and went further to rebuke Calvin Klein for using him to promote their products.
A self-titled autobiographical picture book, Marky Mark, with images taken by Lynn Goldsmith and statements mostly by him, was also released. Him trying to bring back his music, he shifted to Hamburg, where he was produced under the label of East-West Records by Frank Peterson and Alex Christensen.
Dariusz Michalczewski Wahlberg’s friend supported him to release a single called No Mercy. their friendship began in the early 1990s. Dariusz Michalczewski still appeared in the video of No Mercy. In 2000, he was featured in the Black Label Society music video for “Counterfeit God”, as a stand-in for the band’s bassist.
Wahlberg 1993 made his acting debut in the television film The Substitute. After appearing in that film he dropped his name, Marky Mark. His big-screen debut came in 1994

Wahlberg was born on June 5, 1971, in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. He is the youngest of nine children including actor Robert and singer/actor Donnie. His mother, Alma Elaine Donnelly was a bank clerk and a nurse’s aide, and his father, Donald Edmond Wahlberg Sr. was a delivery driver and U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Wahlberg’s parents divorced in 1982 afterward, he divided his time between them.
Wahlberg is of Swedish descent through his father, as well as Irish through his paternal grandmother. His mother was of Irish, English, and French-Canadian ancestry. On his mother’s side of the family, he is distantly related to author Nathaniel Hawthorne. He was raised a Catholic.
