However, in January 2024, Merida left the Los Angeles Times, where he had served from May 2021 to January 2024, and according to the reports, he currently works for Breakwater Studios as their Strategic Advisor. Before joining the Los Angeles Times, he had also worked as the Editor-in-Chief of ESPN’s The Undefeated.

Kevin began his career as a journalist working at the Milwaukee Journal, and from 1979 to 1983, he also worked as a general assignments reporter and the rotating city desk editor.

However, in 1983, Merida was given the role to work as a special projects reporter and local political writer for the program “Dallas Morning News. The series attained a pedagogue Award for increasing “our ability to grasp the previous problems in new ways,” and for its “melding of previous and new varieties of journalism and information to the long run of transmission.”
